A little bit about

Resilience

Bouncing back, or being resilient is not the result of ignoring hardship, trauma or grief.  Burying feelings can lead to stronger reactions when those feelings resurface from reminders or triggers.  A step towards resilience is acknowledging and sharing grief, heartache and trauma.

A second step is choosing to not be defined by it.

The Hugging Tree
by Jill Neimark

This is the story of a little seed that grew along the very edge of a cliff, was battered and broken from the storms of life, yet never gave up.  The story tenderly acknowledges how loosing your way feels, and how it takes nurturing and hanging onto hope to grow stronger again.  "I am growing just where I am meant to be" is a quote from the book that affirms the path you are traveling even in the midst of the storms of life.
